Biotech startup Colossal Biosciences is partnering with elephant conservation organization Save the Elephants to use drones and AI to track African elephants and study their behavior. The drones with high-resolution and infrared cameras will collect new data, which will be labeled using pose estimation and used to develop AI models for individual elephant identification. Behavioral analysis tools will also be used to study herd behavior.
